Vicky Emerson Strives to be “Good Enough” on New Single

By Andrew Ellis, Editor-in-Chief

Parents will do anything for their children. Unfortunately, there will be times they fall short. As a mother of two, singer-songwriter Vicky Emerson knows this all too well – it was the inspiration behind her new single “Good Enough.”

“It’s about wanting to be the best you can be for the people that you love,” she says. “I love being a mom. I truly do, but there are hard mornings, rough days and long nights which are tougher to share on social media.”

It’s those days she carries on her shoulder like an emotional set of weights, even when her kids tend to shake those moments off as soon as their attention gets drawn to something else. Luckily, she’s able to try again as soon as the alarm goes off.

“I always want to give them my best but being human means that I will fail and fall short,” she says. “Luckily, love means trying again for a better day tomorrow.”

The song is off her upcoming Steady Heart album, which she produced herself. It also allowed her to make a performance video while at the same giving her and her team a visual memento of what they accomplished.

“I always wanted to make a video to capture what happens inside a studio setting,” she says, noting that videographer David Dennsion came up with the idea. “And this song seemed like an ideal fit.”
