Amanda Grace Band w/ special guest Sarah Morris
April 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm$15
Amanda is a Minnesota native and has released music drifting between folk and alt- pop/rock. With roots as a pianist her writing is thematically varied with an emphasis on melody; with ballads wrapped in warm vocals. She is soon to release her eighth record in February called, “Give Me Away.” The songs reflect questions Amanda asks herself regarding the status of her own thoughts and heart, and through her music hopes to convey that the giving of oneself, reinforces goodness in the lives of others. Collaborating with Matt Patrick of The Library Studio of Minneapolis Amanda has created her most stunning recording to date with an insightful blend of rock, pop and folk sounds with an intent to showcase her sultry voice.
In 2016 she received a “Front Of Line” pass from The Voice and her early inspiration came from her family’s loss of her nephew from leukemia and soon after, his father. Her nephew was diagnosed with leukemia and she was moved by his struggle and positive mindset. Bryce asked her to sing to him at the moment he passed away. That was her defining moment in her mind to open herself again to writing and performing. “Rainbow Skies” was written for all the kids at the St Mary’s Hospital who view the outside world through the stained glass rainbow window. Therefore, in 2010 she released a children’s album inspired by his memories called, “Trains, Cars + A Trip To Mars.” Soon after his father also passed away from a sudden brain aneurysm. Amanda wrote some songs from the experience and released, “Embrace” in 2012.
Amanda loves performing for all ages and on all sized stages. She joined this evening by Sarah Morris; a Minnesota based singer-songwriter who just released, “Here’s To You” in 2023. Dave Franklin of The Big Takeover says, “It’s a triumph. An album of space and restraint, any note played, every word uttered feels perfectly and purposely placed. The album is a beautiful blend of groove and grace, intimacy and entertainment, fun, and feeling. What more could you ask for? What indeed?” This will be a night to be remembered at one of the most intimate venues in the metro.
