Official Midwest Country Music Organization Award Nomination & Voting Process
Step 1—Open Nominations—2-part process:
A) The general public can submit nominations
a. Member artists can and are encouraged to engage their fans/supporters to nominate them and their body of work from 2024
b. This is a great way to get fans and the industry excited for all that is being created within the Midwest Country Music Family
c. Nomination link is found at www.midwestcountrymusic.org
B) Each member has a “For Consideration” link to submit THEIR work from 2024
a. Members should include all links to songs, videos, etc in their submission for a more streamlined reviewing process
b. With expanding membership (both with numbers and regional coverage) it is becoming increasingly important for membership to be an active participant in the nomination process
c. You should have received an email with your “For Consideration” link
Notes: Only artist content & performances created January 2024-December 2024 will be considered. All nominated artists must be official Midwest CMO members in good standing before the nominee selection process is finalized. The Midwest CMO Board will review all nominations to determine eligibility. After eligibility is determined the Nomination Committee will select final candidates in each category. Non-members CAN receive nominations however most categories require Midwest CMO membership to be selected as an official nominee.
Timeframe for open nominations for the 2024 Award show is Monday, January 6, 2025 through Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:59pm.
Step 2—Nominee selection process
After all the nominations have been received, the nomination committee reviews all entries for membership validation & quality verification to narrow categories down to the nomination finalists—also known as each category’s official “Nominees”. The nomination committee consists of industry professionals in the Midwest region (radio, venue, sound engineers, etc) and includes members of the Midwest CMO advisory board and board of directors. Each nomination is judged on category criteria as well as both an objective and subjective approach to musical & artistic quality.
Timeframe for Nomination Selection Process is Tuesday, January 21, 2025 to Sunday, February 16, 2025
The nominees will be announced on or around February 17, 2025. They will be posted on this page.
Step 3—Voting Process—This is for Midwest CMO members only.
Each Midwest CMO member gets a special electronic voting form that they can fill out only once. This is a very similar process to other country music organizations and their awards. Voting is tabulated by the Midwest CMO’s chief financial officer and none of the winners are known to the public until the envelopes are opened at the Award Show!
Timeframe for the Voting Process is Monday, March 10, 2025 to Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 11:59pm.
